SamFw FRP Tool V6.0.1 is the biggest version jump in the tool’s history and if you’re running V5.9 there are several good reasons to update immediately. Version 6.0 introduced Apple device support for the first time, making SamFw the first Samsung focused FRP tool to expand into iOS device diagnostics. V6.0.1 then adds 12 new firehose loaders, further optimizes Exynos FRP, and adds read IMEI2 and Security Patch Level to the MTP information panel. What’s New in SamFw Tool V6.0.1 – Full Changelog

V6.0.1 is the current latest release. Here’s every change across V6.0 and V6.0.1:

SamFw Tool V6.0

Samsung MTP Information now reads IMEI2 and Security Patch Level alongside the existing device info fields. This is a genuinely useful addition for repair shops that need to verify patch levels before deciding which FRP method to use. Previously you had to go into the device settings to find the patch date. Now the MTP read shows it directly in the tool dashboard.

Exynos FRP Unlock has been further optimized with additional bug fixes beyond what V5.9 addressed. Specific issues that were causing failures on certain Exynos models in V5.9 have been resolved.

Ten new EDL models added: SM-F711N bit E, SM-F721B bit C, SM-F926B bit I, SM-F956B bit 4, SM-G9980 bit G, SM-G998U bit J, SM-S901E bit E, SM-S911B bit A, SM-S916B bit A, SM-S918U bit 8, SM-S918W bit 8.

Apple support added for the first time in SamFw Tool history. Basic iPhone and iPad support covering read information in Normal mode, Recovery mode and DFU mode, plus reboot to Recovery mode and reboot to Normal mode. This is described as basic support and does not include FRP bypass or activation lock removal on Apple devices. It’s a diagnostic and reboot utility for Apple hardware that repair shops can now access from the same tool they use for Samsung.

SamFw Tool V6.0.1

Twelve new firehose loaders added. Firehose loaders are the Qualcomm EDL communication files that allow the tool to communicate with specific Samsung Qualcomm device variants in 9008 mode. Each loader addition expands EDL support to additional Samsung models and bit versions. The specific 12 loaders added in V6.0.1 expand coverage across several Samsung Galaxy S, A and Z series variants not covered in V6.0.

Exynos FRP further optimized beyond V6.0’s improvements. Each successive version since V5.5 has refined the Exynos unlock stability and V6.0.1 continues that progression.

Read IMEI2 confirmed in MTP Information panel. First introduced in V6.0 and confirmed stable in V6.0.1.

Security Patch Level now readable from MTP mode. Confirmed stable in V6.0.1.

Why V6.0.1 Matters – Three Things That Actually Changed

Most version updates are incremental. V6.0 and V6.0.1 together represent three genuinely meaningful changes worth understanding:

1. IMEI2 and Patch Level in MTP
Before V6.0 you needed to manually check the device settings for the security patch date before running FRP operations. Now SamFw reads both IMEI2 and Security Patch Level directly during the MTP information read. For repair shops this means one less step before deciding which bypass method applies to the device. The patch date confirms whether the free method applies or credits are needed without going into settings.

2. Apple Device Entry
SamFw adding Apple support even at a basic level signals the direction of the tool’s development. The current Apple functions are limited to read information and reboot operations but the infrastructure for expanded iOS support is now in the tool. For repair shops handling both Samsung and Apple devices this reduces the need to switch applications for basic iPhone diagnostics.

3. 12 New Firehose Loaders
Each firehose loader is specific to a Samsung Qualcomm model and bit version combination. Adding 12 in a single release is a meaningful expansion. If your specific Samsung Qualcomm model and bit version wasn’t working in EDL mode in V5.9 or V6.0, V6.0.1 may have added the loader it needs.

V6.0.1 maintains the same free versus paid split as previous versions. Nothing changed on the pricing side.

Completely free: Samsung Qualcomm FRP removal on devices with security patches before December 2022. No account, no credits, no server authentication needed.

Requires paid credits: Samsung Qualcomm devices with patches from December 2022 onwards. All Samsung Exynos FRP removal. All new EDL operations. Apple device functions are currently free as they are basic diagnostic and reboot operations only.

What You Need Before Starting

A Windows PC running Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11. Windows 10 or 11 strongly recommended. Note Windows 7 errors were specifically fixed in multiple previous versions showing the developer actively maintains compatibility.

Samsung USB drivers. Install from the Misc tab inside the tool or from our drivers page. Restart your PC after installation.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 or above. V6.0.1 continues the automated checking from V5.8. Install from Microsoft’s official site if prompted on launch.

USB data cable that supports data transfer. Not a charging only cable.

SamFw account with credits for paid operations. Create free at samfw.com. Exynos FRP, Qualcomm Samsung with post-December 2022 patches and EDL operations require credits.

Wi-Fi on locked Samsung device for Exynos operations. Connect on the setup screen before plugging in USB.

Device charged to at least 30%.

Antivirus temporarily disabled. The application uses several tools and scripts to unlock the device as well as an obfuscator to protect the source code so it may be mistakenly suspected of being a virus. This is a false positive. Leading antivirus software such as Kaspersky, Avast, Avira and AVG trust the application and mark it as safe.

How to Install and Set Up

Step 1: Verify MD5 checksum
Run the PowerShell command above before extracting. Compare with 0874ba49a276c9a00ff9fba7e6046bc4. If they match the file is genuine.

Step 2: Extract and disable antivirus
Extract the ZIP to your desktop or C drive. Disable antivirus or add the folder to exclusions before extracting.

Step 3: Run as administrator
Right click SamFwTool.exe and select Run as Administrator every time. Never double click directly.

Step 4: Install Samsung drivers
Navigate to Misc tab. Click Install Samsung USB Driver. Restart PC after installation.

Step 5: Install Visual C++ if prompted
Click Install VC++ 2015 in the Misc tab if the tool shows a warning on launch.

Step 6: Log in
Click Login and enter your SamFw account credentials. Check credit balance before starting any paid operation.

Step 7: Connect your Samsung
Plug device via USB. The tool shows model, chipset, Android version, Security Patch Level and IMEI2 in the MTP information panel after detection.

Step by Step Guide – Samsung Qualcomm FRP Bypass

Step 1: Open SamFw FRP Tool V6.0.1 as administrator. Confirm device is detected with patch level visible in the MTP information panel.

Step 2: On locked Samsung tap Emergency Call. Type *#0*# to open test mode. Leave open without tapping anything.

Step 3: Click Enable ADB. Wait for confirmation. Takes 10 to 30 seconds.

Step 4: Click Remove FRP. Watch progress log. Takes 1 to 3 minutes. Do not disconnect.

Step 5: Success message appears. Disconnect USB. Hold power until Samsung fully shuts down. Wait 10 seconds. Power on manually.

Step 6: Complete normal Samsung setup.

Step by Step Guide – Samsung Exynos FRP Bypass

Step 1: Open SamFw FRP Tool V6.0.1 as administrator. Log in and confirm sufficient credit balance.

Step 2: Connect locked Samsung Exynos to Wi-Fi on setup screen.

Step 3: Connect Samsung to PC via USB. Confirm Exynos shows in chipset field.

Step 4: Navigate to Exynos FRP section. Click Remove FRP Exynos.

Step 5: The auto-accept USB debugging function from V5.6 handles the debugging prompt automatically on most models.

Step 6: Wait for completion. Takes 2 to 5 minutes. Progress shows in log.

Step 7: Cold restart Samsung. Complete normal setup.

Step by Step Guide – Apple Device Read Information

This is the new function in V6.0. Basic diagnostic use, not FRP bypass.

Step 1: Open SamFw FRP Tool V6.0.1. Navigate to the Apple section.

Step 2: Connect iPhone or iPad via USB. The device should be in Normal mode, Recovery mode or DFU mode. The tool reads information from all three states.

Step 3: Click Read Information. The tool displays available device data including model, iOS version and hardware identifiers.

Step 4: Use Reboot to Recovery or Reboot to Normal as needed for your diagnostic or repair workflow.

Errors and Fixes

Device not detected after connecting
Install Samsung USB drivers from Misc tab. Restart PC. Use data cable not charging only. Run tool as administrator. Try USB 2.0 port instead of 3.0.

Security Patch Level showing blank in MTP information
This is a new field in V6.0. Some older Samsung models may not report this field through MTP. Try reading in ADB mode as an alternative. Ensure you’re on V6.0.1 not an older version.

IMEI2 not showing in MTP information
Dual SIM Samsung models show IMEI2. Single SIM models will show blank for IMEI2 which is normal behaviour. Confirm the device is dual SIM capable.

Exynos FRP still failing after updating to V6.0.1
Confirm Visual C++ is installed. Check that Samsung USB drivers are current. Ensure Wi-Fi is active on the locked Samsung device. If failures continue on a specific Exynos model note the model number and security patch date and check the SamFw Telegram channel at t.me/samfwcom for model-specific updates.

Apple device not detected
Confirm Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed on your PC. This comes with iTunes and is separate from Samsung USB drivers. Install iTunes from Apple’s official site if you haven’t already.

Firehose loader not found for your Samsung EDL model
V6.0.1 adds 12 new loaders but not all Samsung Qualcomm model and bit combinations are covered. Check the complete EDL model list on samfw.com. If your specific model isn’t listed it may be added in a future update.

FRP removal completes but verification screen still appears
Full cold restart. Hold power until completely off, 10 seconds, power on manually. Never auto-restart. Run Remove FRP a second time if screen persists after clean cold boot.

Credits deducted but operation failed
The auto-write log function saves the operation log automatically. Contact SamFw support through your account portal with the log file attached. Credits are typically refunded for server-verified failures.
